In 1994, Andy Wainwright embarked on his professional journey as a Business Development Manager for Classeq, the UK’s largest manufacturer of commercial glasswashers and dishwashers. Over a remarkable 14-year span, Andy achieved notable success and amassed extensive product and technical knowledge through nationwide site visits to diverse establishments such as hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants and pubs.
Andy took ownership of Barcare Supreme Ltd in 2008. His vision was clear: not only to specialise in Classeq products but also to diversify and expand Barcare’s product and service offerings. Today, Barcare stands as one of the country’s leading suppliers of commercial equipment for bars and restaurants, boasting a comprehensive product range that now includes ice machines, bottle coolers, airack dryers, cooking equipment, and bar sundries. In a strategic move, Andy also expanded Barcare’s services to include rental agreements, maintenance, and servicing, while developing specialised tools for streamlined repairs.
Driven by a passion to improve hygiene standards and enhance efficiencies in the UK’s hospitality sector, Andy pioneered Barcare’s own line of specially formulated cleaning chemicals. These cleaning detergents are expertly formulated to optimise cleaning performance and prevent machine damage, marking another stride in Andy’s ongoing dedication to excellence.
Bringing his qualifications as an electrician into play, Andy still enjoys a hands-on role in Barcare’s success. He remains visible during site visits and installations across the country, offering his invaluable technical knowledge and expertise to Barcare’s long-standing and loyal customer base.
A prominent business figure in his hometown of Stafford, Andy is a regular supporter of good causes. He loans equipment free of charge to local beer and food festivals, sponsors the town’s rugby and cricket clubs, and more recently, Stafford Rangers F.C.
